‘Rudra’ means Shiva and ‘Aksha’ means tears. It means Tears of Shiva. When Lord Shiva opened his eyes after a long time, his tears fells upon the earth, and wherever those tears fell, a rudraksha tree was formed. The rudraksha beads are the seeds within the rudraksha fruits which open up by themselves, when placed in water. Rudraksha trees are mostly found in Nepal, India, Burma, and Indonesia.

Precautions while using Rudraksha
