Yuvraj Singh is an Indian cricketer who took the cricketing world by storm with his left-handed batting and slow left-arm orthodox bowling. Considered an impressive all-rounder, his fielding too earned him much applause.
Singh began his career at 13 years with Punjab Under-16s, and gave impressive performances, getting a call to join the national squad. He debuted internationally with the 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy, where he gave a scintillating performance against Australia and South Africa, helping India to wins.
In the 2007 T20 World Cup, Singh stunned viewers by hitting six sixes in a single over, making Singh the first player to get this achievement in T20 Internationals.
Singh was diagnosed with a form of lung cancer in 2011 and took some time off cricket to heal. But, he bounced back to the game with his selection in the 2012 ICC World Twenty20. He took a while to find his feet again, but soon became one of the highest bidded cricketers in IPL. However, he retired from cricket in 2019.
Singh details the story of his life and struggles in his autobiography, The Test of My Life: From Cricket to Cancer and Back. Singh is married to British actress and model Hazel Keech and they have two children, a son and a daughter.
