American actress Jenna Ortega is a household name for her portrayal of Goth girl Wednesday Addams in the Netflix supernatural series Wednesday.
A proud Mexican–Puerto Rican American, Ortega decided to become an actress at age six, and persuaded her mother to let her appear in auditions. She started with small roles in commercials and television. Her breakthrough came with Disney Channel’s Stuck in the Middle, where she played the middle child of seven siblings who invents gadgets to handle the chaos of living in a large family.
However, Ortega would eventually be known as a “scream queen” for her many roles in horror and thriller productions. She starred in a row of slasher movies such as Scream, Studio 666, The Babysitter: Killer Queen, American Carnage, X, and Scream VI.
Despite having an expressive face, Ortega is remembered for her deadpan manner, especially in Wednesday, for which she earned nominations at the Primetime Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Ortega supports many causes, such as promoting mental health awareness and supporting immigrant rights. She has also partnered with UNAIDS to bring AIDS to mainstream discussions.

Ortega has an Aquarius Ascendant and a Taurus Moon sign. As the Moon is conjunct Rahu (a Lagna lord) she starred in many horror productions. She has a strong support from a well-placed Venus. Exalted Mercury gives her the ability to express her ideas, thoughts, and opinions in a unique manner through her acting, and helped make her a “scream queen.”
Mercury plays an important role in Ortega’s horoscope, with prominent influence on her 5th house of intelligence and fame (from both the Moon and the ascendant). It also brought her fame, featuring her on the Power 100 list from The Hollywood Reporter in 2023 and the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2024.
Ortega has exalted Jupiter, which plays a significant role in her writing too. In 2021, she made her writing debut with the book It's All Love: Reflections for Your Heart & Soul, which contains statements and quotes regarding love and faith. Also, thanks to exalted Jupiter, she starred in roles beyond horror, such as in the Netflix comedy film Yes Day (2021), playing an adamant teenager who seeks greater freedom from her parents.
